Super Trash Day, May 1

Have you got trash that just won’t fit into those city-sanctioned yellow or blue garbage bags?
Well, get ready to haul it out to the curb for pick up on Winnona Park’s Super Trash Day on Saturday, May 1. This is the day when the sanitation department will pick up all kinds of fun things that they don’t normally pick up.
In addition, because what’s one person’s trash is another person’s treasure, lots of people from the community drive around and pick up things they can use. All in all, it makes for a great opportunity to do some cleaning of those basements and attics.
We recommend putting your items out on Friday, April 30.
Here’s the scoop from the City of Decatur:
•All items to be collected should be placed at the curb no later than 7:30 a.m. so that we will not have to double back for late setouts.
•We will collect yard trimmings, building materials (that are not from the work of private contractors), tires, appliances (not containing Freon) and trash that would not normally be placed in pay-as-you-throw (PAYT) bags.
•We will not collect liquids, dirt, bricks, blocks, stone, rocks, concrete or motor vehicle batteries or parts.
